Steve Windsor

About the author

Like a "cross between Andrew Vachss, Dexter, and James T. Kirk," Author Steve Windsor has been pumping out some of the wildest, most controversial, and irreverent thriller books that you'll never want to admit you secretly love. His Nine Day Novel series on the details and difficulties of writing fiction is helping new authors everywhere overcome the initial hurdles of becoming a self-published author. Steve's fiction thrillers are full of profanity, sarcasm, social satire, and best of all "OMG" action moments. They're told in a gut-wrenching, hard-hitting style similar to watching a prize-fighter "rabbit-punch" a speed bag. Formerly a technology executive in Silicon Valley, Steve's cold gray roots in Seattle, Washington provide a backdrop for his dark thrillers. Worlds where it isn't hard to imagine the parallels and perils that the modern day world will soon face. He's not one of a kind, but he is one of "that" kind. Currently, Steve lives in the Bay Area of California, but secretly wishes he had a beach house on the Big Island of Hawaii. In his own words: I wish I was more like Chuck Wendig. I have the profanity part down. But I love to tell stories--spice up the truth with some serious "What if this happened?" More than that though, I attack writing like a horror villain with a chainsaw! I write in long stretches until my body aches, then I drink some more coffee, tell my body to shut up, and then I keep going. My novels aren't for everyone. Are any books, really? I like to push the envelope--poke the comfort zones. And if you like wild, controversial and irreverent thrillers ... you will love them! For me, becoming a fiction author has been a great--though sometimes brutal and unforgiving--ride. Because of that, I started writing books that I wish I would have had when I started the process of learning to write fiction. I've tried to strip out all the "journey" and "inner-muse" stuff and define and outline the act of physically getting words on the paper in the right order and in the right places. I've tried to put the "how" back in the how-to book genre that so many of them I've read are lacking. If you like that, then my author how-to books are for you. Andrew Vachss is my hero. You should definitely read him. Betty White--Lake Placid. All I'm sayin'. "I write fiction ... because the truth is just way too scary."
